Actor

Jimmie Comer III is a storyteller, and truth-seeker whose journey in performance began at Southfield Christian School under the mentorship of his Theatre Mentor, Ms. Hostetter. It was there that he first fell in love with the stage—a love that deepened at Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit. Where he performed in original productions like Detroit to Dakar, It’s Lit!, and Lift Every Voice, honing his skills in Jimmie learned the value of ensemble work, physical storytelling, and and what it means to use art as a tool for transformation. Jimmie went on to earn his BFA in Theatre from Western Michigan University, where he was apart of productions such as Sweat (Chris), Skeleton Crew(Dez), The Tempest (Ferdinand), and Intimate Apparel (George Armstrong), and more.

His credits span stage, including indie films like Mercy 2 Far Gone, Sweat!, and Tomorrow. Jimmie’s performance range is further supported by voiceover work (Caught Up in the Circle of Life, Titus Gordon – All Ears Theatre) and rigorous training in voice, movement, dialects, and Shakespeare.

Jimmie dreams of maximizing his gifts by following his artistic vision. Jimmie’s artistic vision is to master his instrument because he believes is stewarding his current assignment. Jimmie believes his stewardship will give him an harvest called preparation, & that his preparation will give him the confidence to step into his future prepared for it because he was practicing presents in the dark.(Adapted from the words of Pastor Travis Greene)

Jimmie believes the Denzel Washington quote that, “Dreams without goals are just dreams.”. Therefore, Jimmie has a list of goals he is expecting to achieve. One of which includes him starting a Theatre. Jimmie plans on learning all that he can, so he can achieve his goals, arrive at his dreams, & prepare for his future.
